Hello Tyrae Tala! It’s great to get some time to get to know more about you! To start off, we’d like to know when you decided to pursue a career in music?
I started pursuing music when I turned 16 after I got my first microphone that was bought by my grandmother and I found a program called Adobe Audition and started recording my self.
That’s young! Did you learn to mix & master as well or did you just learn the recording aspect?
Yea I was real young! (laughs) I learned everything from top to bottom.. Till this day I mix and master everything I do I don’t trust anyone with my work. I know I’m gonna put in more than anybody else will because it’s my work and I’m really trying to make a name for myself. That’s why I rep my own label O.M.O/SSP/SM.
Wow! Not only does that save you a lot of money but I am sure you’ve picked up a lot of tools on how to make YOUR VOICE sound as high quality as possible. Now.. how has the music business been different than what you imagined it would be?
Yeah the music business is real different than what I thought it would be. I thought it was based off of talent but I see different being in it.. Like I work hard, I sing, I rap and engineer but no one pays attention unless you know someone that knows someone.. Not from you working hard! It’s crazy but I’m gonna make it happen they gonna hear me.
That’s a great mindset to have! What do you do to help you stay motivated & positive while chasing your dreams?
The Dream, My Family, My Kids, My Management, My Mother, things I want in life like money/cars/clothes. To own something and make my name stand for something.. And my Grandparents who raised me but passed from cancer.. That’s my motivation.
That’s good! You always need a support system to succeed. And it seems like you have plenty pushing you right now. Since you’re feeling motivated in growing your name, what do you expect to accomplish this year?
I expect to have a real name for myself this year. Work so hard, when I charge for my voice to be on yo track you gonna wanna pay it. Do things I haven’t done, more videos, out of town shows, featured with bigger artists like Migos/Skippa Da Flippa. Just work till the people I watch start watching me.
People really underestimate the power of videos! It’s always great to get recognized by established artists. Who are some other artists/producers you’d like to work with in the near future?
Umm well like I brought up Migos/Skippa Da Flippa, basically the whole QC team.. There’s an artist named Bandit Gang Marco from Atl I think is nice as far as production. Lil Memphis, Ferrdarro, this guy from Indianapolis Zero The Composer and many more.
Have any of those artists or any other artists in particular helped you mold the style you have today?
You know what.. anybody that’s a real artist helps my style whether it’s pop, rnb, hip hop/rap or country I love real music it all helps me. So yeah a couple of them have an influence on my music.
It’s always great to stay outside the box and study music from different avenues. So your manager got you a spot on our Going Global 3 Mixtape which is featuring SwizZz, as well as some other dope artists. How excited are you to get “Hunnid Bands” on our project?
Man I still can’t believe it. Just to see your hard work from running back and forth from the mic to pressing record, to mixing the song and feel like nobody’s gonna like it & then get a spot on a big blog site is crazy! I still can’t believe we are talking right now.. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR THE CHANCE!
